Leilia Paske Show Jumping

Ella has been an important part of my eventing team for the past four years and her physio skills were an instrumental part in my success in the 2019 European championships.

She is knowledgeable, effective and easy to work with, but more importantly, she has a calming manner that the horses respond to.

Grand Prix level Physiotherapy

I have been working with Ella since moving to Suffolk over  8 years ago. Ella is an important part of our team to keep our horses fit and physically sound. She always communicates clearly with us, my vet, farrier and saddler to get the best out of the horses. Ella played a big part of helping me reaching my goal of competing at Grand Prix. I recommend Ella to anyone that wants a physiotherapist that is not only professional, knowledgeable but also really cares for the horses !

I got Toby as a 4 yr in 2009 and we are now competing at BE Novice level.

At the end of a hard 2012, despite going well, I was really putting Toby through his paces, with all the training and competing required for Novice Eventing. It was time to get a physio to take a look at him.

Ella first treated Toby in Oct 2012, whilst on his autumn break. Ella took his full history, how he works on the flat and jumping, and also observed his gait before starting treatment.
She then worked upon him, concentrating on the areas where he was tight, mainly in his back behind the saddle area, and gave me exercises to do with him to help his with his flexibility in between sessions.

Ella treated Toby once more before I began to bring him back into work and felt she had helped to loosen his back. We were both interested to see if it would improve his way of going. Upon our first session of trot work in the school, I collected Toby up as usual and popped into trot expecting to spend 5-10 minutes loosening him up before we did any real work (he always, since a 4 year old, started very tight and reluctant to go forward for a few minutes) only to find the tightness had completely gone! He went beautifully forward straight away, moving freely from behind in a way he had not done before. It really felt like he had been working with elastic bands around his back legs that had now been taken off!

I was so impressed at how much of a difference Ella’s treatments had made to Toby in such a short time and have been hooked ever since.

Ella continues to treat Toby and his dressage and suppleness has continued to improve, giving us our best marks yet at Novice this season.

I would thoroughly recommend Ella, she has made a huge difference to my horse’s way of going, is caring and considerate in her treatment and has an eye for detail that us obsessed horse people always appreciate!

equine physio suffolk

Here is a photo of Breeze (Haflinger) competing at the Suffolk show this year all thanks to the hard work by Ella sorting out Breeze’s muscle problems in her back and hind quarters. There is no comparison in her way of going from when you first treated her. A very big thank you I now have a fantastic riding pony.

I was lucky enough to work with Ella at Activ8 Physiotherapy with a few of my rehab cases. She is very thorough and always at the end of the phone for help and advice.
Ella is able to work well with owners, vets and other physiotherapist’s and always feels every horse is important to her. With Ella having her own riding career it allows her to understand more about what the owner is aiming for. Ella has many positive attributes and I look forward to working with her in the near future.

Horse physio success story

Ella has been treating my horse for over 18 months now and was, in fact, the first to spot her lameness. Following the diagnosis of bilateral suspensory desmitis, Ella has been treating my horse regularly and systematically, as part of her rehabilitation.
Through this process, Ella has gone all-out to get my horse back to soundness, including using a muscle mobilisation machine when her back had become sore through her injuries, as well as providing customised exercises for me to do each day, adjusting them as my horse progressed in her rehab. Her attention to detail when assessing my horse is really reassuring, as is her desire to work with my vet, saddler, farrier and trainer, keeping in regular contact with them to discuss my horse’s progress.
My horse is now in full work again, thanks in a very large part to Ella’s careful and targeted treatment. She continues to see her regularly and I take great comfort from knowing that I have Ella’s expertise on hand to help keep my horse sound.
